Cenovel

Supported devices

The built-in hardware catalog holds 566 models from 4 vendors, 181 of them with a front-panel diagram. Devices outside the catalog can still be recorded and read.

What Cenovel reads

Identified means Cenovel recognizes the vendor and software and names the model. Monitored means it reads the device on the polling schedule.

Not supported yet

What this release does not read, so you can plan around it.

  • SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 without privacy or with MD5, SHA-1 or DES. Cenovel uses SNMPv3 with SHA-2 authentication and AES-128 privacy only.
  • Recognizing Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, Palo Alto PAN-OS and Extreme SLX-OS software. Devices running them are read only through the standard SNMP tables.
  • SSH reads of Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba switches, Catalyst 1200 and 1300 switches, and SLX switches.
  • The Cisco Meraki dashboard, Aruba access points, Aruba Central and other controllers or cloud services. Cenovel reads only Juniper Mist and ExtremeCloud IQ; a Meraki access point is named only from a switch’s LLDP neighbor.
  • Polling a UPS or its network card. A UPS is an inventory record.
  • Switch chassis temperature and other environmental sensors on switches.
  • Per-port VLAN membership on Cisco, Switch Engine and Fabric Engine switches, and per-port duplex outside Junos.
