Track circuits
Whether each school’s circuit is up, how full it is and who to call, told apart from Cenovel itself being cut off.
GuideReviewed against the application source on October 12, 2026
Is each school’s circuit up, and who do I call?
Open Network › Circuits. The strip counts circuits, down, edge not answering, busy today (a peak of 80% or more of the contract in the last day), use not read, not watched, and schools with no circuit. Down circuits come first in the table, with the provider and its phone.
What the states mean
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Up | The circuit is up. |
| Circuit down | The circuit is down. Cenovel tells a down circuit apart from a silent edge device by whether other devices at the school still answer. |
| Edge not answering Cenovel | The device at the school’s edge is not answering, so the circuit can’t be judged. |
| Unknown while Cenovel is cut off | Cenovel can’t reach the management network, so no circuit is called down. |
| Not watched | Cenovel is not watching this circuit. |
| Not checked yet, or not checked in the last hour | No recent read of the edge device to judge it by. |
Add a circuit
- Choose Add a circuit. Fill in the school, circuit ID, provider, contracted and upload speed in Mb/s, the edge device and its WAN interface, and the circuit’s contact.
- Choose Add circuit. Use Add provider first for a new provider, with its support line, email, portal and account.
A circuit’s drawer has Who to call, its outages (those while Cenovel was cut off are not counted), and how Cenovel watches it. Use comes from the counters Cenovel already reads on the edge device.
