Opal 2.0.9
Departments are retired for four simple tiers, a site's pages sit in one row of tabs, every drawer follows one layout, and figure tiles lead every register.

New
- A site's pages sit in one row of tabs: Overview, Closets, Devices, Topology, Special ports, Jacks, Assets, Outages, Projects, Log and Activity. Old links still land on the right tab.
- Port templates and the port sheet handle trunk ports: native and allowed VLANs, with access-only settings set aside while a port is a trunk.
- Topology marks a link the network model only assumes, one no switch reports and no record says, apart from links that are seen or recorded.
Improved
- Departments are retired. There are four tiers, Monitor, Auditor, Operator and Administrator, and what a department decided now belongs to each person.
- Every drawer follows one layout: a head like a page's with one visible action beside the primary, At a glance on the first tab, and two widths chosen by what it holds.
- Figure tiles lead every register, including Diagnostics, Stock, Audits and each site's pages, and a site's Overview. Pressing a tile filters the list under it.
- Home: Your week is as tall as its calendar and sits beside Your places, and each day names its marks on hover.
- Everything and Funded is a switch in the Assets page's first card, and Network settings opens from Devices.
- Staged port changes say how many and where, with whether they are safe, and Review lists each change.
- A site's Devices page holds the device table; found devices and the nightly find wait in Needs a decision, and what is plugged in shows on each switch.
- The operational timeline is on a site's Activity page only, and it collapses.
- The audit trail names each record and shows field names, codes and times in plain words, never ids.
- E-Rate funded rows look like every other row apart from their red leading rule.
Fixed
- An outage is recorded once per incident, never once per poll that saw it.
- A license notice appears with the page instead of pushing the page down after it loads.
- My work reads its counts when it is opened during its first read, instead of waiting for the next round.
- Going forward in the browser reopens the record you had open.
- No page calls a device down: a device is not answering Cenovel.
- The page permission grid fits its card at 1280 and 1440 pixels wide: each column and each row sets all its pages from one Set all menu, so Delete and Whole row are no longer cut off.
Security
- If Cenovel can't read someone's access while they sign in, it refuses the sign-in and says to try again, rather than letting them in on their tier alone.
- Bulk serial tagging checks each record the way a single edit does, and names the records it left alone because you can't edit them.
- A restricted project is read by the people it names: its sponsor, owner and manager, the people assigned its work, and the owners of its phases, milestones, risks, issues, assumptions and decisions. Confidential is now the same level as restricted.
Upgrade notes
- Database changes, applied automatically when Cenovel starts: departments retired, one outage per incident, and one restricted project level. Install it as you installed 2.0.8.
- Department Administrators become Administrators. Operators, Auditors and Monitors keep their tier. Storekeepers keep the storekeeper ability.
- An asset's or closet's department shows only in its history, not on the asset page.
- A department's design is carried to each of its members as their own design, so nobody's console changes. An Administrator can fold the carried designs back into the district design.
- Notices go to everyone, so only Administrators post and change them. Operators who posted notices to their department no longer can.
- Where departments published different governance criteria, a project follows the newest reviewed publication.
- A former Department Administrator follows low-stock reminders for their department's categories only. Nobody else is subscribed by default; categories nobody follows still go to every Administrator.
- Explore has no Department field, including on its history views.
- Monitors and Operators see district-wide figures in Explore and on Home, since no department narrows them any more.
